Description
Serving as 2013-2014 Student Retailing Association Vice President of Recruitment, I was one of six other officers. Though all officers possessed our own leadership capabilities, we had to learn to compromise with each other to plan a successful year for SRA members.
I demonstrated my capability to successfully work with others in many ways while serving as VP of Recruitment. A specific example is when our VP of Internal Affairs had to unexpectedly step down from her position in the middle of the year. The VP of Internal Affairs keeps track of all dues payments, records and tallies member points, and designs and creates a survey sent out to members at the end of each semester. This is an important administrative role that directly affects each SRA member. I volunteered to step in and take on the VP of Internal Affairs officer position in addition to my VP of Recruitment office. I knew I had the capabilities to obtain a standard of quality that would go above and beyond my fellow officers expectations. Being VP of two positions for one organization was not always easy, but I wanted to put the needs of SRA before my own.
Volunteering to assume new responsibility showed my initiative spirit. I produced successful results within my new office by streamlining the points spreadsheet and updating members' progress regularly. Finally, through my fellow officers' trust in me to take on the tasks of VP of Internal Affairs and my desire to make this entire transition period as seamless as possible for them, our unity as an officer team was strengthened. I am proud to say no matter what challenges and setbacks were thrown our way, we remained a supportive and cohesive unit.
Below is a document I produced under my role as VP of Recruitment. This promotional flyer was used both Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 for recruitment purposes.
